The psalms which suggested this to him—and also, independently and less definitely to Gunkel (Einleitung, pp. 94-116)—were 47,93 and 95-100. It was the path along which psalm-criticism was to advance that psalms of similar form and content should thus be classed together; but such abstraction, in almost total disregard of the collections and order in which these psalms are set in the Psalter, inevitably resulted in a one-sided emphasis. Mowinckel added further psalms to his picture of the festival: 24, 29, 46, 48, 76, 81, 82, 84, 118 and 149.
