I watch a lot of television, and I am in no way ashamed of that. However, when I found myself watching NCIS: Los Angeles I wondered if I had lost it. I never watched the original NCIS, I thought it was too close to CSI and CSI: Miami and I had just got off watching JAG, another show based around the Navy and one I began to hate by the end. Needless to say, NCIS was very low on my list and since I like to watch shows from the beginning, there was no way I could start mid series. No way!
Then the 2009/2010 television season began and there was an NCIS spin-off, something CBS is good at, based in Los Angeles. I was intrigued and interestingly enough, I didn’t realize it was an NCIS spin-off until closer to its premier. My attraction to the series was based on the actors alone. I am familiar with and have seen many of the other movies or television shows the cast (Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Linda Hunt and Peter Cambor) have done in the past; to see them all in one place was great. Even the people whose work I am unfamiliar with are quickly becoming favorites.
It’s apparent that I like the show. It has a good storyline, the past of Chris O’Donnell’s character, Special Agent G. Callen is full of questions, and more questions emerge with every episode. There have been the occasional character cameo from NCIS and because of this latest spin-off I’m more likely to go back and watch the original series. Are you aware of NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles?
