10001

It was at 5:05pm on February 06, 2010, I was playing Prince of Persia and had just defeated the Hunter when up popped a notification on my screen, “20 G Now who’s the Hunter?” I stopped immediately because I knew what that meant, I had reached a Gamerscore of 10,001. I had to play a lot of games to get this score, and I mean a lot considering I rarely finish a game where you can rack up your score just by completing a game. There were a few games that really boosted my score, Avatar: The Last Airbender being one.

If you want probably the easiest 1,000 points (video), Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Burning Earth is the only game in existence that will give them to you in the first 2 minutes of actually playing. All you need is to achieve a hit counter of 50 and you’re done. You don’t need to complete the game or even the first level. All you need to do is mash a button and take out 50 enemies.

There were a couple games that took an afternoon to get through, Open Season and TMNT. Each of these games provided their 1,000 points easily and because they were geared towards kids, they didn’t provide much of a challenge.

If you’re a Lost fan, you might actually enjoy playing Lost Via Domus. This game, much like the series didn’t answer any questions and actually, I believe, made the series even more confusing. Regardless, it’s an easy 1,000 points but I only got 980 because I missed an achievement, and I didn’t feel like replaying two hours of the game to grab it.

Those four games helped me get to where I am today, another loser who puts way to much stock in these stupid, useless Gamerscores.
